Illustration of a paper premium-audit form becoming a digital checklist, with a verified bank card

What it is

Development of the premium-audit Non-Digital module, which moved a paper-based audit process onto the digital platform, and integration of bank-account validation into the payment services.

The problem

Non-digital premium audits were tracked on paper, and the payment monolith read and wrote bank-account data directly in the database, which made it hard to change.

  • BACIS validation API external
  • Oracle data

Key decisions

  • Reuse the digital flow

The non-digital audit was modelled on the existing digital audit flow for other policy types, so reviewers work in one consistent process.

  • Replace database coupling with a contract

Posting, reading and validating bank details moved from direct database access to the BACIS REST API, making the payment service easier to extend.

Highlights

  • Paper-based audit tracking replaced by a digital workflow.
  • Bank-account validation integrated through a REST API.
